For Leonard Antley, a.k.a. “L Soul”, music has always been an inspiration in his life. Born into a family of singers from a small town in Beaufort, S.C., L Soul first fell in love with music when he was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church’s Youth Choir.
“I use to love singing in church on Sundays, because the music had such a powerful message. I got to see how through song you could really touch people.”
This crooner credits his aunt Rose Morgan for helping him realize his talent and taking it to another level . Many people believe that this crooner is going to make a lot of noise in the music industry in the future. With the upcoming release of his debut album “Moving On” it is undeniable that everyone will be talking about this artist for years to come.
L Soul is the nephew of Jonathan Green, one of the most influential painters of our time.
“My uncle is my inspiration, I look up to him so much and he is the reason I know I can achieve this.”
As a singer/songwriter Soul plans to help bring R & B back where it belongs, the top of the charts. When it comes to writing songs he is like a mad scientist in the lab, a hit is going to be made almost 90% of the time.
L Soul lists Michael Jackson, The Temptations, The Isley Brothers and James Brown as his favorite artists. Some believe L Soul is going to take the music industry by storm and if his music is any indication of what he can do, they may be right.
So what did the ‘Prince of R & B’ have to say when asked about his debut albums impact on the music industry?
“Everybody needs a little soul in their lives.”
